Create a New Project

Start by entering the basic details for your solar project analysis. This is Step 1.

Does your quote include a battery?

Create a New Project

Enter the details from a single solar quote here. This is Step 1 of 5 in the analysis workflow.

What is a 'Project'?

A "Project" is a container for a single solar quote. Creating a separate project for each quote lets you compare them side-by-side on your dashboard later.

System Size (kW) & Total Cost ($)

These are the primary inputs from your quote. They are used to calculate your **Price Per Watt ($/W)**, a key metric for comparing cost-efficiency. The form will show you three versions of this metric in real-time:

Total Quoted PPW

The overall cost-efficiency of the entire quote, including solar and battery costs.

Solar Price per Watt

The cost-efficiency of only the solar components. This is the best metric for an apples-to-apples comparison against other solar-only quotes.

Battery PPW Contribution

This shows how much the battery is adding to the total price per watt, helping you evaluate its cost impact.

Battery Cost ($)

If your quote includes a battery, toggle this on and enter the specific cost of the battery component. This is crucial for calculating the separate cost-efficiency metrics for the solar and storage parts of your system.

Next Step: Rates

Once you save the project, you'll automatically be taken to the

Rates
page to find your utility electricity rate. This is Step 2 in the analysis.
